Mal. M.M. Ibrahim, is the Executive Director of Operations, Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). As pioneer staff, he joined the NDIC as an Assistant Bank Examiner in October 1989.

Throughout his career in the NDIC he has held several positions that contributed towards moving the Corporation forward such as Director Bank Examination Department and Director Research, Policy and International Relations Department. He was also the first Head of the NDIC Academy as well as the pioneer Zonal Controller NDIC Sokoto Zonal Office. From 1997 to 1999, he was seconded from the Corporation to the Ivory Merchant Bank Ltd as an executive director under the supervision of the CBN/NDIC Management Supervisory Board.

He has served on various CBN/NDIC Supervisory Committees related to the International Convergence of Capital Measurement and Standards of Capital Adequacy Accords, also known as Basel II and III, as well as the Nigerian implementation of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

He was also the chairman of Ethics and Professionalism Sub Committee of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria’s Investigating Panel (CIBN).

Mal. M. M. Ibrahim has a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, a Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria. He also holds a master’s degree in economics from the prominent University of Lagos. He is a member of the Nigerian Economic Society, as well as a Certified Risk Manager and Patron of the Nigerian Risk Management Association (RIMAN) (NES). Mallam Mustapha is happily married and blessed with children.
